Artist's Comments

These are the last pictures I will ever get of this proud animal.

within a week of my visiting he was destroyed, along with the entire pack by the Highland Wildlife Park.

This was to make way for their new Scandinavian grey wolves.

They killed them so that they could bring in new animals? I am either missing something, or that is just really stupid. Good picture though

yep you got it, when i last visited they had just brought in 2 Scandinavian females who were settling in in a seperate enclosure. the main pack had been reduced from over 12 to 6... a week later I hear the remaining 6 have been destroyed and they're planning on bringing in a male of the same sub-species...
I believe it had something to do with the existing pack not being Native European wolves...
I am shocked and disgusted at this action and doubt I'll ever go back.

A wildlife park destorying animals, couldnt they have just figured out something else grrrrr the wolf is my favorite animal such a nobel creature I just hate that needless killings just for new pack can have room they could have found another way.

One of your best photos, as I said when I first saw it. A lovely tribute to this beautiful creature who didn't deserve his fate.

Will you be making a print of this?

Some of my best friends are Huskies....

Thanks, I think it possibly is my best photograph
I think I will make a print of it, I'd like a larger version than the A4 I currently have.

Hmm, that seems odd to me that a supposed Wildlife park would do exactly the opposite to protecting the animals. Especailly when the reason was just so that the could bring in new animals. Yea, I too am very shocked by what happened there.

That's a wonderful photo. I just might buy the print. =)

It's disgusting that they would kill off such wonderful animals. There's already too little of them in the first place.
